Saugatuck Center for the Arts
Saugatuck Center for the Arts, an uptown theater in Downtown Saugatuck, is dedicated to building relationships and connecting to the community through the creation and production of entertaining, diverse and stimulating plays and musicals that nurture and enrich the audience, the art and the artists. The Center is committed to fostering a broader knowledge of the performing arts and creating lifelong learning opportunities in an already thriving fine arts community.
The theater, a non-profit professional theater, was founded in 2002. In its first five seasons, it has been the home of eleven regional premieres and three world premieres, including “What a Glorious Feeling,” “Scenery,” “Altar Boyz,” “Hunka Hunka Burning Love” and “The Great American Trailer Park Musical.”
Stars of stage and screen seen at Saugatuck include Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (“Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “The Drowsy Chaperone”); Tony and Emmy Award winner Bea Arthur (“Maude,” “The Golden Girls, Mame”); Emmy nominee Georgia Engel (“The Mary Tyler Moore Show”);Tony and Emmy nominee Michelle Lee (“Knots Landing,” “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying”).
The Saugatuck production season runs June through the end of August. Other special events are produced throughout the year.
