Vanities: The Musical at Meadow Brook Theatre

Musical runs March 19 through April 13, 2025, on the campus of

Oakland University


Three best friends support each other through 30 years of lives and loves, disappointments and dreams. Mary, Joanne, and Kathy start as cheerleaders in Texas. As they grow and become sorority sisters, housewives, and more, this funny and poignant musical follows along to show that, although times may change, good friends are always there for each other.

Vanities: The Musical, with a book by Jack Heifner and music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum, runs March 19 through April 13, 2025, at Meadow Brook Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills.


"Friendship is so important,” says Travis Walter, MBT artistic director. “There are always people who flow in and out of our lives, but if we’re really lucky, there are at least a few who have seen us through our ups and downs. This musical celebrates those friends who are always with us.”


The cast of Vanities: The Musical welcomes back Meadow Brook Theatre alums Em Hadick playing Mary and Caroline Moulios is Joanne. New to the MBT stage is Katherine Alexis Thomas playing Kathy.

Vanities: The Musical is directed Travis W. Walter. David Caldwell is the music director and Debbie Williams is the choreographer. Scenic design is by Mia Irwin, with costume design by Karen Kangas-Preston, lighting design by Neil Koivu, and sound design by Brendan Eaton. Brittanie Nichole Sicker is the stage manager, and Stacy White is the assistant stage manager.


David Caldwell also plays keyboards and directs the band, which includes Louis Jones III (drums), Brad Linden (guitar), Jackson Stone (bass), and Ian McEwen (reed).

Student discounts are available at the box office. Groups of eight or more should call 248-370-3316 for group pricing. Vanities: The Musical is suggested for audience members in high school and up.
