CHELSEA, MI-The 2023-24 Wilde Awards will be announced after the Thanksgiving break. As ever, winners will be able to order plaques.

We have decided to take a one-year hiatus on Wilde Awards, encompassing the 2024-2025 season. The reason is that with the transition of ownership of EncoreMichigan taking place, we will not be able to cover and review enough shows to make it fair.

Encore reviewers will be reviewing shows this season on a case-by-case, week-to-week, show-to show basis based on the availability of reviewers. So, theatres may still get requests for reviewer tickets.

In past years, we didn’t necessarily get to every professional theatre and show eligible for Wilde Awards, and that was painful as we didn’t want to miss productions. But we have determined that we will simply miss too many shows for this year’s awards to be fair and complete.

We look forward to planning our coverage for the 2025-26 season so that we ensure a fair award system. As previously announced, John Sloan III will take over as Editor and Publisher of EncoreMichigan.com, while David Kiley remains a contributor and ongoing owner/administrator of The Wilde Awards.
