“Sweeney Todd” hits Coldwater with Fleet Street signs
Tibbits Opera House has added “Fleet Street” signs along Coldwater streets, in anticipation of the upcoming production of the second mainstage show of the Tibbits Summer Theatre season. The installation of these iconic street signs precedes the opening of Sweeney Todd.
Following approval from the City Council, the incorporation of “Fleet Street” signage underscores Tibbits’ commitment to immersive theatrical experience for patrons. Tibbits Executive Director, Christine Delaney, expressed enthusiasm for this endeavor, and highlighted the evolving challenges of promoting theatrical productions, emphasizing the importance of creative marketing strategies.
Installed on June 12, the “Fleet Street” signs, currently located on Hanchett Street at US 12 and at Pearl Street, serve as a compelling visual invitation into the world of Sweeney Todd, adding an authentic touch to Tibbits Summer Theatre’s rendition of this dark and gripping tale. These signs will remain in place for the duration of the musical’s run, enhancing the thematic ambiance for theatergoers and immersing them in the eerie atmosphere of Victorian London even before they step foot into the theatre.
Scheduled to run from June 27 to 29, and July 3, 5, and 6, Sweeney Todd is poised to captivate audiences with its thrilling storyline and outstanding performances. The addition of the “Fleet Street” signs has further heightened anticipation for what promises to be a riveting production. Tickets are still available for purchase, with prices ranging from $20 to $46, offering options to suit every budget and ensuring that everyone can be part of this theatrical experience.
