Dio presents Little Women 11/18-12/23
PINCKNEY, MI–The Dio Ding & Entertainment Theatre here will present the musical Little Women based on the Louisa May Alcott story.
The show, with book by Allan Knee, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and music by Jason Howland, will be accompanied by a holiday dinner menu.
Anna Dreslinski Cooke plays the lead character, Jo. March. Regional credits include CAROUSEL (San Luis Opera Company), THE MUSIC MAN (Goodman Theatre); HELLO DOLLY!, WEST SIDE STORY, & Associate Director of SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE with The Encore Musical Theatre Company; PIRATES OF PENZANCE with Main Street Opera Theatre. Anna was a U.S. National Junior Olympian in Rhythmic Gymnastics, and studied with Sergey Rayevskiy at The Russian Academy of Classical Ballet for many years. Her youth theater company, Renaissance Players, is located in the Detroit area. Cooke is a graduate of Madonna University.
Dio Artistic Director, Steve DeBruyne, returns to our stage as John Brooke! A graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC, some of Steve’s favorite Dio credits include THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (Quasimodo), ROCK OF AGES (Lonny) and FOREVER PLAID (Frankie). Most recently, Steve was seen at The Williamston Theater and Tipping Point Theater in their joint, world premiere production of TRACY JONES
Dan Morrison (Wilde Award winner), Maddie Ringvelski, Anne Koziara, Samuel Wright, Anna Cooke, Marlene Inman (Wilde Award winner), Anne Bauman, Tyler J. Messinger, Sarah Brown (Wilde Award Winner), are also featured.
Don’t wait to make your plans to join us. Multiple performances are already SOLD OUT or have very limited seating. Performances begin November 18 and take place Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons through December 23. There will be a Thursday evening performance on December 15 and December 22.
