Snug presents Ludwig’s ‘A Fox On The Fairway’ 6/9-6/26
MARINE CITY, MI–A FOX ON THE FAIRWAY, presented at The Snug Theatre here from June 9 through June 26, takes audiences on a hilarious romp, which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club.
Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it’s a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers’ classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man’s eternal love affair with…golf. The uptight members and staff of a private country club have life—and golf—all figured out. But when a friendly wager turns cutthroat, and sides are switched, it’s time to roll up their sleeves and come out swinging.
A throwback to the great English farces of the 1930s and 40s, A Fox On the Fairway has everything: Mistaken identities, slamming doors, romantic shenanigans…and golf!
Tony Amato and Randy Skotarczyk play the roles of Henry Bingham and Dickie Bell, the executive directors of the rival clubs. Kathy Vertin plays Pamela Peabody, Dickie Bell’s ex-wife. JM Ethridge plays Muriel, Henry Bingham’s wife. Matthew Muns and Paige Lang play young love interests, Justin Hicks and Louise Heindbedder, both of whom work at Quail Valley.
“A Fox on the Fairway” will run through June 26 at The Snug Theatre, located at 160 S. Water St. in Marine City. Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays. Tickets cost $30.
