ANN ARBOR, Mich. EncoreMichigan today announced that the 2019 Wilde Awards ceremony is canceled.

The winners of this year’s awards will be posted in the very near future. Plaques, when they arrive, will be mailed to the theaters where the awards were earned.

“It is clear to me this year that we will not have to support and ticket sales necessary to make the event a success,” said Editor-in-Chief David Kiley. “We apologize to all the nominees and winners. You are tremendous. But unfortunately, we cannot take the risk that the event is a financial loss,” said Kiley.

The EncoreMichigan.com network of theaters covered by the website includes some wonderful artists whose work deserves to be recognized through our nomination and award process.

“We will do our best to keep the Wilde Awards intact going forward, perhaps with a new model or formula. And we hope that we can come back next year with an event the community will be proud of,” said Kiley
