MILAN—Roustabout Theatre Troupe is seeking scripts for the 2018 Crooked Tree Play Festival, a 3-day theatrical event in Milan, Michigan. Each year, the Crooked Tree Play Festival brings over 400 audience members to view a variety of plays by Michigan playwrights. This year’s festival will be held from Thursday Aug. 23 through Saturday Aug. 25. Selected plays will be performed 1-2 times as staged readings over the course of the weekend.

Roustabout is seeking scripts that meet the following criteria:

• Written by a Michigan-born playwright, or a playwright currently living in Michigan
• Full-length (70 pgs minimum) AND one-acts (5-30pgs)
• Maximum of 4 characters
• Theatrical play (no screenplays, teleplays, or radio dramas)
• The piece must not have received a full production yet;  scripts will be considered that had previous table readings or staged readings.
