Shakespeare Royal Oak to host “Amore at the Market” fundraiser Friday, June 23
ROYAL OAK—On Friday, June 23 at 6:30 pm, Shakespeare Royal Oak will host “Amore at the Market” inside the Royal Oak Farmers Market at 316 E. Eleven Mile Road in Royal Oak. This fundraiser event is open to the public and will feature Italian Food Truck fare, a special performance of an original musical review, Kiss Me, Shrew!, a silent auction, and more. Tickets ($30), which includes a $10 voucher good toward the purchase of food, are available now at www.shakespeareroyaloak.com, and in person on June 23 beginning at 6:30 pm.
This summer will mark Water Works Theatre Company’s 17th season presenting Shakespeare Royal Oak, the largest outdoor Shakespeare event in Michigan. The festival will present three theatrical productions: The Taming Of The Shrew as its featured evening show; an original production, Shakespeare In Love and War, as its daylight presentation; and Hamlet directed and produced by Water Works Teen Ensemble. The festival will also welcome performance-minded students in grades K-8 to its unique outdoor education experience KidsAct!
“Amore at the Market” will feature a special performance of Kiss Me, Shrew!, an original Shakespeare musical review, and a scene from Romeo and Juliet performed by past participants of Shakespeare Royal Oak’s outdoor education programs. The event also includes a cash bar, dessert table, fan making table, and more.
