Read Patty Nolan’s review of Theatre Nova’s “Katherine”
Playwright Kim Carney has teamed up with Theatre Nova to give us an intriguing new play that explores the age old complications that develop between mothers and daughters. Mothers, it seems, have a biological mandate to protect their daughters, complicated by the fact that daughters have a hormonal imperative to push their mothers away. Unfortunately, the reality that these worried mothers were once capricious daughters themselves doesn’t seem to further efforts toward conflict resolution.
