“Low Hanging Fruit” shines a light on the little-discussed plight of homeless female veterans. For that alone, it deserves praise.
The play, a 2014 work by San Francisco playwright Robin Bradford, is sometimes clumsy in its approach to complex issues, but the current local staging by the Matrix Theater Company and the University of Detroit Mercy theater program is heartfelt and often well-acted. At times, it sends chills.
