Read Lansing State Journal on Williamston’s “Too Much, Too Much, Too Many”
WILLIAMSTON, Mich.–Sometimes we just want to run away from life — close our bedroom door and refuse to come out. Most of us never do that, but playwright Meghan Kennedy conceived a show based around a character who did just that.
The Williamston Theater is bringing that play, Too Much, Too Much, Too Many to its stage starting Jan. 28 and running through Feb. 28.
In it, Rose, played by Brenda Lane, has locked herself in her room after the death of her husband from Alzheimer’s. Her daughter Emma, played by Emily Sutton-Smith, has been taking care of her for the better part of the year, having arrived at the house first to care for her ailing father (played by David Daoust).
Then the church sends over the new pastor, played by Aaron T. Moore, to try to convince Rose to leave her room.
“You suddenly find out everyone has put up barriers,” said Director Tony Caselli. “It shows that how we move through life really is up to us. How we react to things is a choice.”
