At the Explorers Club, members of an eccentric group of scientists spend long evenings in late-19th Century Britain sipping cocktails, smoking cigars and fussing over their various fields of study. These include poisonous snakes, rodents and new varieties of plants. As Nell Benjamin’s comedy “The Explorers Club” opens, they’re  focused on a single question: Should a female scientist be allowed to join what has always been an exclusive boys club?
