The Croswell is looking for volunteers Sept. 6

Posted: Aug. 26, 2012 at 11:10 a.m.

ADRIAN - Located in downtown Adrian, the Croswell Opera House is seeking volunteers to assist with a work day dedicated to completing a diverse list of maintenance and organizational projects. Everyone aged 15 and older is invited to attend the work day, whether assistance can be offered for one hour, or for the day.

The Croswell is Michigan's oldest continually operating theater, and at age 146, shows its age in a few spots. Several important projects planned for the work day include small drywall repair, replacing baseboard in several offices, carpet laying, painting the art gallery, organization and cleaning of the heritage room and more. Licensed electrical workers, plumbers and carpenters are especially needed for several larger projects.

If you are able to assist the Croswell with this important work day, please come dressed for labor, and in clothes that can get dirty. Though not required, it would be helpful if volunteers would let us know they plan to join us.

To RSVP, or for more information on the Croswell’s Work Day, please stop into the theater located at 129 East Maumee Street in downtown Adrian. Or, you may contact Ashley, Croswell box office manager, at 517-263-6868 or via e-mail at abrainerd@croswell.org.

The Croswell Work Day is an annual event, dedicated to the cleaning, maintenance and ongoing support of downtown Adrian's only live theater.
