Two arts & cultural grant programs announced

ANN ARBOR - The Arts Alliance announces it is accepting grant applications from nonprofit arts and cultural organizations in Washtenaw, Monroe and Livingston counties for the FY2013 Minigrant Program.

Organizations may request up to $4,000 to support programs and up to $1,500 for professional and organizational development.

The deadline for applications is Monday, Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Projects must take place between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2013.

The Arts Alliance administers the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs Minigrant Program for Region 4 that includes Washtenaw, Monroe and Livingston counties. Minigrants provide support for arts and cultural organization providing high-quality programs that preserve, produce or present traditional or contemporary arts and culture and/or arts education as well as programs that increase public access to arts and culture. To be eligible for the Region 4 Minigrant Program, an organization must be located in one of the three counties, have been a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for at least two years and meet all the MCACA eligibility requirements noted in the Minigrant Guidelines found online at http://bit.ly/ArtsAllianceMinigrants2013.

The Arts Alliance will host a Minigrant Preparation Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. at the NEW Center, 1100 North Main, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
