Margaret Edwartowski and Nancy Edwards - collectively known as the improv troupe Bottle of Red.

For five days beginning Aug. 8, improvisers from across the United States and Canada will converge on Ferndale for the inaugural Detroit Improv Festival. More than 30 improv troupes will perform and 12 improvisation workshops will be taught by the best professionals in the industry, with performances taking place at three Ferndale venues: The Ringwald Theatre, The Magic Bag, and Go Comedy! Improv Theater. Headlining the festival will be the superstar improv group The 313, featuring Keegan-Michael Key ("Key & Peele"), Maribeth Monroe ("Workaholics"), Joshua Funk, Nyima Funk, Andy Cobb, Marc Evan Jackson, and Jaime Moyer. Also in the line-up is the return of the "first ladies of Detroit improv" - collectively known as Bottle of Red. The improv and sketch troupe is comprised of Detroit legends Nancy Edwards and Margaret Edwartowski, two saucy broads, best friends and by no means natural red heads (hence the name). Together they joined host Donald V. Calamia to talk about the Detroit improv community, their shared history, and what will be happening in Ferndale Aug. 8-12.
