GPS winners announced at The Ringwald

FERNDALE – The third annual Gay Play Series completed its most successful year June 25 at Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre. The Audience Award for Best Script this year went to "Fanny Packs and Hanky Codes" by San Francisco playwright Kristian O'Hare. "Fanny Packs and Hanky Codes" was directed by Matthew Turner Shelton and featured Shelton, Patrick O'Connor Cronin, Frannie Shepherd-Bates, and Josh Campos. The short play will be featured in a full run with last year's winner, "A Few Survivors" by Jason Sebacher, during the upcoming 2012-13 season at The Ringwald.

An Audience Award for Best Actor went to Cronin for his performance in "Fanny Packs and Hanky Codes." Best Actress honors went to Genevieve Jona for her turn in Mark Harvey Levine's "Ten Picnics," directed by Joe Plambeck. The Best Director award went to Gary Lehman for helming "Queer/Trek" by Brian Walker.
